COUILLARD Michel - July 2, 2010 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michel on Friday morning, July 2, at the age of 62. He passed away peacefully and unexpectedly of heart pulmonary failure in the emergency unit of the Jewish General Hospital of Montreal soon after admission for a hip fracture. He rests in peace after a courageous fight against cancer, from which he was in remission for three years. Michel was a wonderful and giving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was well known for his smile, patience, friendly nature, generosity, gentleness and his big heart. Michel retired from Air Canada in 2003 after 30 years of service in Dorval. Early in his life Michel developed a fascination with engines. He joined Pratt and Whitney, then Air Canada in 1973. There he worked as a mechanic in the test cell and later as a quality and maintenance inspector and technical auditor. His work always gave him a sense of pride and accomplishment. Michel will be greatly missed by his loving daughter Ariane Couillard and his sisters Sylvie Couillard and Mireille Landreville. He is also leaving behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who were all very dear to him. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Funeral Services were held on July 31 at Sainte-Francoise-Cabrini church in Rosemère, where he lived for many years. |
